Hello everybody, welcome to the Shangri-la blog.
Thank you to everybody who has supported Shangri-la for the past 3 years on thursday nights, monday nights and all of the various 'specials' with John Power, Alan Tyler, Jackie Leven, Peter Bruntnell and Wizz Jones.
This is going to be a busy year for Shangri-la with Tom Conway playing next month, Sean Taylor, Mark Wynn, an outing to Leigh Folk Festival and then Mr. Jackie Leven to round the year off in a way that only Jackie can!! (and make Tom turn into a 12 year old girl in 1964 with her favourite Beatle when around him)
Firstly let me get an apology for the sound system at Wizz Jones out the way. Everything was working in sound check and then it seemed to all go horribly wrong as soon as Wizz put his foot on the stage. We worked out that it was the connections on the sound desk that kept cutting out and the issue is being dealt with.
On the flip-side we do have some rather spiffing videos recorded backstage at the Wizz Jones gig to share with you, as well as a new YouTube channel which will be updated with videos and things!!

We are also pleased to announce that the first Shangri-la Festival....ish....thing will be happening this summer on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August - lineup and more news on that to follow!
